What an evening we had yesterday at IN Accountancy!
Without being able to arrange a Christmas Do this year for obvious reasons, we still felt that we had to do something to reward the IN Accountancy team for all their above and beyond efforts this year, to give our best wishes to Tony who is retiring after 48+ years in the same job, and to allow everyone a little bit of safe, secure, socially distanced, face to face social interaction.
So we closed the office early, giving those who were not working from home time to go home get changed and come back for a 4pm start. Well, all except Theo and Andy, who’s 2pm client zoom meeting ran over just a little!!
We had organised the absolutely fabulous Kelly Connif from Cocktails N Canvas to come and give us all an art lesson. Not everyone was too enthusiastic about trying to paint their version of the Manchester skyline, but Kelly and her daughter were wonderful teachers, and some of the efforts weren’t too shabby at all. I can’t recommend this highly enough to anyone who wants to try something a little bit different.
Food was supplied by a small local business, and we all agreed that Rachel Peabody from Platters and Pinchos put on the finest spread we’ve ever experienced.
Once our paintings were finished (to a variety of standards) and everyone had something to eat we were ready to get on with some awards… Thankfully each and every individual at IN has a good sense of humour and wasn’t easily offended by awards such as the Super Snacker, Why use One Word (when one thousand will do), Scary Spice, Excessive Gambling or most like Barbie’s Ken… We will let you guess who won what!!
And then it was so long, farewell, but not goodbye to Tony who has been awarded lifetime membership of the IN Team and will be invited to each and every social we hold in future, if we’re ever allowed to socialise again!!
His colleagues had clubbed to buy him a beautiful watch, and he had more bottles of Malibu (yes, you read that correctly – Tony has the sweetest tooth of anyone I’ve ever known, and that’s his tipple of choice, mixed with lemonade) and boxes of chocolate than you can begin to imagine.
Thank you too, to all the spouses, partners, parents and children who were taxi drivers, allowing everyone to relax and have a few well earned drinks. I suspect there may have been one or two sore heads this morning – it was a good call to push the working day’s start time back from 8am to 10am!!
The office remains open next week, closing at 12.30 on Thursday 24th December.
Enjoy the pictures, and best wishes from all at IN Accountancy for this Christmas period, and a happy, healthy, successful and ultimately Covid free 2021.
